How AI colorization works

The model was trained on millions of color photographs, so it has learned the statistical link between what an object looks like in grayscale and what color it most likely is — grass reads green, denim reads blue, a face reads as skin. When you upload a black-and-white image, it predicts a color value for every pixel while keeping the original brightness and detail untouched, then hands you a full-resolution PNG.
